One To Watch: Vamtor LD10

24 Apr , 2017

Here at the Gamerscore Whores we love nothing more than a bit of tech that will help us game for extra hours on end.

While wandering around the EGX Rezzed show at the Tobacco Dock this year, we got chatting to James, from Vamtor who asked us to have a look at a new product he had recently invented.

Needless to say as soon as he mentioned it could help me when playing racing games, my ears perked and James gave us a little pitch of his recent invention.

He had invented a new way of attaching you gaming steering wheel without having to use a coffee table or have a PC desk set up, which for me is great as I console game from my couch. James started to show us some specs of the Vamtor LD10 with its dual platform and a side desk to allow support for gear sticks. Being that the LD10 is 560mm x 355mm x 113mm (22″ x 14″ x 5 1/4″) and only weighs 1.7 kg (3.75lb), its small enough to pack away after use and light enough to enable you to game for long periods of time.

Using a nonslip bottom and two leg strap’s which attached to the bottom of the unit for thighs up to a maximum of 71cm (28”), you can easily attach it to your legs while sitting down and tighten to comfort. Allowing you to have the steering wheel at an optimal height for playing while in the comfort of your favourite lounge chair.

What’s also great is that it not only caters for racing games but flight Sims too, with the ability to attach flight sticks and yoke controls ad well.

Below is a list of all the currently compatible units at the time of writing:

  • Logitech G25, G27, G29, G920, MOMO Racing Force Feedback wheel, Farming Simulator Steering Wheel and Loader Stick and the Driving Force Shifter.
  • Fanatec ClubSport Shifter including the SQ CSL Elite Wheel Base and the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.
  • Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel, Ferrari Challenge Racing Wheel, Ferrari F430 Force Feedback, Ferrari GT 2-in1 Force Feedback, Ferrari GT 2-in1 Rumble Feedback, Ferrari GT Experience Racing Wheel, Ferrari Racing Wheel Red Legend Edition Force, Feedback Racing Wheel, Nascar Pro Force Feedback, Nascar Pro Force Feedback 2, RGT Force Feedback PRO & Clutch Edition, Rally GT Pro Force Feedback, T100 Force Feedback Racing Wheel, T150 Ferrari Wheel Force Feedback, T150 Wheel Force Feedback, T300 Ferrari GTE/ T300 Ferrari Integral Alcantara® Edition/ T300RS, T300 Servo Base, T500 Servo Base, TX Servo Base T500 RS, T60 Racing Wheel, T80 Racing Wheel TMX Force Feedback, TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition, TX Racing Wheel LEATHER Edition Universal Challenge 5-in-1 and the TH8 RS Shifter and TH8A Shifter.
  • Microsoft Xbox 360 Wheel.
  • Fight Controllers Pro Flight Yoke Control System by Saitek, X-55 and X-56 RHINO H.O.T.A.S. System by Saitek and the CH Flight Sim Yoke.

So where can I pick one of these up I hear you cry, well that’s the catch the LD10 is currently only available as part of a Kickstarter campaign, at an early bird price of £50.

There is currently a limited build of only 600 units if its backed 100% and the money will go towards production and tooling and Only 5% will be spent on overheads required to support manufacture, which include costs for CE marking, design costs, supplier visits and other professional and administrative fees.

The Kickstarter went live today with 34 days to go starting its long haul to its £423,000 goal. This product is a no brainer for those couch gamers out there that use a steering wheel as it will change the way you race or fly forever.
